More modern hostels, better facilities, higher price point (400–700 THB dorm); quieter atmosphere, better BTS access.
Fewer options but more character — small guesthouses and boutique hostels in restored shophouses; 300–600 THB dorm.
Air-con quality (critical in Bangkok heat), locker security, bathroom ratio, curtains on each bunk (privacy), location relative to BTS.
