Chatuchak Weekend Market — Complete Visitor Guide

Updated 2026 · Totally Bangkok

Everything you need for a successful Chatuchak visit — timing, navigation, what to eat, and how to survive the size.

The basics

15,000+ vendor stalls across 27 acres — open Saturday and Sunday 9 AM–6 PM; Wednesday and Thursday evening market also runs for plants and housewares.

Getting there

BTS Mo Chit or MRT Chatuchak Park station — right next to the market; arrive by 10 AM to avoid peak heat and crowds.

Navigation

The market has numbered sections and a map at each entrance — download the Chatuchak app or screenshot the zone map; get lost deliberately in sections 1–7 (antiques).

What to eat

Food section in the middle of the market; coconut ice cream in a coconut shell (40 THB) is the iconic snack; fresh-pressed orange juice everywhere; local Thai food from 40–80 THB.

Tips

Bring cash; ATMs inside but queues build; start at the antiques section (best in cooler morning); wear comfortable shoes; take BTS or MRT back — taxis queue badly on weekends.
