A 4km riverside walk connecting BTS Saphan Taksin to the Old City — one of Bangkok's most satisfying urban routes.

Starting point

BTS Saphan Taksin station leads directly to the Sathorn pier — the start of the walk; the river immediately opens up with Asiatique visible across the water.

Asiatique (30 min walk south)

Walking south along the riverfront leads to Asiatique — a good evening start to the walk as the lights come on.

North along the river

Walking north from Sathorn pier: Si Phraya pier (antiques at River City), Tha Tian pier (access to Wat Pho and Grand Palace).

Best time

Early morning (7–9 AM) for light, activity, and manageable heat; evening (5–7 PM) for sunset over the temples; avoid midday in hot season.
