Home to a 46-meter reclining Buddha and considered the birthplace of traditional Thai massage.
The massive gilded Buddha lying on its side is Wat Pho's centerpiece — you walk around it on a circuit, passing its enormous soles inlaid with mother-of-pearl.
Wat Pho's massage school is famous and attached to the temple — you can watch students practice or book a session if you'd like to try it.
It's steps away from the Grand Palace on the eastern bank of the Chao Phraya, easily reached by river boat or a short walk from the Old City.
